9/12/2023 0 Comments Fender mustang amp forum![]() ![]() ![]() Other similar amp in that vein : Boss Katana 100 glowing reviews and reportedly has great effects on board. I still use the Mustang, switching between it and the PG Bias Head.Ĭan't comment on the "GT" version but everything I've heard about the GT is not good. Even so, the Mustang stays and sees a decent amount of gigging and used to do 100% of my Worship Band's lead guitar duties until I got the Positive Grid. I also have a Positive Grid Bias Head Amp that is absolutely phenomenal too. And yes, I am a "tube amp" guy! (full disclosure: pedals that I use regularly with the M III v2: Archer OD Plimsoul: Carbon Copy Deluxe Fulltone FB3 Orange Box Phaser and Swamp Thang tremolo) I have never once thought about getting rid of it. It WILL take pedals into the front of the amp (probably the effects loop too, but I don't use it myself) and it sounds GREAT! You will have to do some tweaking and get deeper into the models but it's well worth the effort. I was, and still am, blown away by the tone and capabilities of this amp! I figured "if I could just get it to sound good enough to get by." Holy Crap! I got it used, with the 3 and 4 button footswitches, like new, from GC for around $285.00. I got it because it has a direct out xlr back when my church "sound guys" did not / would not mike a tube amp. I LOVE that amp! I use the 65 Deluxe Reverb settings (three of that model, with different parameters sag, speaker / cab configurations, gain settings, bias, etc.), two of the Bassman models and one of the Marshalls. I contacted Fender who was no help at all. The bass control will not change the bass level of any preset. Almost 3 years for me and my Mustang III v2. Fender has set out to raise its digital modelling game with this 100-watt evolution of the Mustang amp line but does it have the tone to match its. Im new to the forum and looking to see if anyone has had the same issue that Im having with my Mustang III amp All of the controls work all of the tone settings eg. ![]()
